C++ Software Engineer - Defence sector

Initial 3-month contract
Basildon or Southampton (2-3 days onsite per week)
£63.70ph, UMB, inside IR35

Our client, a leader in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a C++ Software Engineer for an initial 3-month contract to join their team working on a range of cutting-edge defence projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing innovative software solutions and new features for defence applications
Collaborating with a team of world-class software engineers to continuously improve and innovate
Working on-site in Basildon or Southampton 2-3 days a week, with the possibility of working from home at other times
Supporting the Integrated Sensors & Protection line of business
Engaging in iterative development life cycles, including Agile methodologies
Using development tools such as Jira and Dev Ops to manage projects

Job Requirements:

Proficient in C++ software development
Understanding of embedded development tools and approaches

Experience with Windows and Linux application development
Familiar with the development of new applications within formal constraints
Experience using iterative development life cycles and associated tools (e.g., Jira, Dev Ops)
Understanding of development to design and coding standards
Knowledge of modelling tools such as Rhapsody is an advantage
Ability to obtain SC clearance, with the possibility to start on BPSS
