Hours: 37.5 hours with overtime available

Salary: £24,570 pa

Hydro International – Data Insights & Analysis ltd, (formally Hydro-logic Services) a CRH Company, is a leading UK provider of advanced data services and expertise to help municipal, industrial and construction customers to improve their water management processes, increase operational performance, and reduce environmental impact. We have been operating in the UK for around 40 years and undertake data analysis and collection for a variety of customers nationwide.

We compile, quality assure and issue data reports to clients relating to water levels, water quality and discharge. We operate and maintain the Hydro-Logic Flexi Logger 105 equipment installed at around 1,400 sites across the country. We offer services to major clients as well as smaller local authorities and parish councils when needed. Our flood water monitoring systems provide invaluable data to communities affected by heavy rainfall.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Hydrometry and monitoring team.

Responsibilities:

  • Visit various sites, primarily undertaking field measurements of water quantity (flow), depth, quality, rainfall, etc.
  • Install, operate, and maintain telemetry logging equipment.

Essential

  • A passion for working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Comfortable working in water, strong swimming skills
  • Confidence in working at heights (e.g., ladders) and ease in confined spaces
  • Good computer literacy (MS Office – Word, Excel)
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant environmental field (e.g., Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, etc.)
  • Awareness of potential risks and safety protocols
  • Hands-on experience with power and hand tools
  • Willing to travel as required
  • Valid UK driver’s license for 12 months +

Experience

  • Full training is provided; prior experience is not required if the essential skills are possessed
  • Experience with hydrometric field data collection is beneficial but not essential

  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home as needed
