The Estates Department is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join the Maintenance Team. This is a development role that provides training opportunities and the possibility for future progression within the Estates department.

• Carry out planned and reactive building works to ensure a welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
• Repair, maintain and improve the building and its facilities.
• Perform maintenance within the hospital environment, completing planned maintenance dockets, defect dockets and Estates elements of the NHS National Cleaning Standards.
• Assist with other building‑related tasks, including mechanical and electrical building services in plant rooms and ward areas.

• Background preferably gained in mechanical/electrical maintenance, building services or a healthcare environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Empathetic approach to staff and patients, adaptable, willing to learn new skills, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability and agility to carry out manual handling.
• Current valid full driving licence is an advantage.

The trust operates three sites:
Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, and Andover War Memorial Hospital.
