We're seeking an experienced PMO Manager with DV clearance to join a large-scale, fast-paced programme based in Basingstoke, focusing on risk & issue management to ensure mission-critical project success.

What You'll Be Doing

As PMO Manager, you'll steer the PMO function end-to-end, with a strong emphasis on risk & issues control:

• Risk & Issue Management

  • Establish and maintain the RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) framework
  • Lead risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning and monitoring
  • Chair regular risk and issue boards, escalate significant items to senior stakeholders

• Governance & Reporting

  • Develop and deliver weekly/monthly PMO dashboards and highlight reports
  • Ensure project complies with governance processes (stage gates, health checks)
  • Provide clear senior-level summaries and steerage

• Change, Finance & Procurement Management

  • Manage change control: scope, impact, cost, and schedule
  • Work with finance to track budgets and forecasts
  • Oversee procurement: liaise with SMEs, validate quotes, get ATP and issue POs

• Planning & Scheduling

  • Maintain integrated project plans, highlight slippage and risk
  • Coordinate across multiple work streams to align timelines

• Document & Knowledge Management

  • Ensure version-controlled PMO documentation
  • Support lessons-learned exercises and archival of deliverables

• Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships across delivery teams, technical experts, suppliers
  • Facilitate key governance meetings, ensure timely follow-up

• Team Leadership & Co-ordination

  • Mentor junior PMO analysts, delegate responsibilities
  • Define roles and responsibilities in the PMO Charter

Must-have Experience

• Active DV Clearance, must be a sole British national
• Proven experience as PMO or Programme Manager in large-scale, complex tech programmes
• Strong expertise in risk & issue management
• Solid grasp of PMO processes: governance, RAID, financials, change, scheduling
• Advanced user of MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Share Point
• Experience with procurement and contract processes
• Prince2 or P3O accreditation preferred
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Strong attention to detail, organisational discipline, and collaborative mindset
