A Quantity Surveyor is required to join a medium sized Civils Contractor on a permanent basis in Frome. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be required to manage costs and ensure the financial success of their surfacing, highways, and other civils projects, ensuring cost control, value engineering, and contract compliance.

• Preparing, managing, and monitoring project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reports.
• Conducting detailed cost analysis, value engineering, and risk assessments.
• Administering NEC and JCT forms of contract, ensuring compliance and managing variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Procuring subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing commercial relationships.
• Measuring and valuing completed work.
• Processing payments and resolving any commercial disputes.
• Working closely with the site teams to ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Liaising with stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Assisting in tender preparation.

• Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor working on highways, surfacing, or civil engineering within a contractor environment.
• Knowledge of NEC and JCT forms of contracts.
• Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office.
• Full UK driving license.
• Excellent skills in commercial awareness, negotiation, communication, team working, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
