You will provide an outstanding service and support experience in the use of our LIMS application, as well as supporting, maintaining, developing and administering this critical business system in line with departmental policy and best practice.
Upholding this service will be underpinned by a methodical and organised approach, ensuring knowledge sharing through multiple means, including appropriate and effective documentation.
The department utilises ITIL best practice principles, and you will be expected to follow these processes to ensure excellent customer service.
What you'll do- Configure and customise Lab Ware LIMS to meet specific laboratory workflows and compliance standards
- Provide first and second-line support for the Lab Ware LIMS application, addressing user queries and resolving technical issues promptly
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to Lab Ware LIMS configurations, interfaces, and integrations
- Perform system configuration, updates and maintenance to ensure the LIMS operates efficiently and effectively
- Implement system enhancements, developments and modifications based on user requirements and industry best practices
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including user manuals, standard operating procedure (SOP) and troubleshooting guides
- Collaborate with project teams to support the implementation of Lab Ware LIMS projects
- Monitor system performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement
- Proactively recommend and implement process enhancements to optimise system usage, performance and laboratory workflows
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support
- Keep security at the forefront of all activities
You will possess knowledge of Lab Ware LIMS, exceptional problem‑solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
You will need experience within an application support team and enterprise environment, ideally aligned with ITIL practice.
We are looking for experience in:
- Lab Ware LIMS configuration, including sample management, analysis management, batch and folder template management
- Lab Ware LIMS basic programming
- Relational databases and structured query language (MS SQL/Transact‑SQL)
- A laboratory and regulated environment, preferably in the water industry
One or more of the following would be desirable:
- Crystal Reports design and configuration, XML or HTML
- Lab Ware Certification (Admin 1/2)
- Lab Ware Visual Workflow development
- Instrument integration with Lab Ware LIMS, including the use of Lab Station/parsing scripts
- Use of Lab Ware schedulers, e.g., Water Template or Process Scheduler
- Lab Ware Storage Location Manager
You will have excellent team skills, working in collaboration at a highly technical level with colleagues, IT partners and consultants, both on and off‑site. You will also possess excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts, solutions and ideas to people at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
You will also possess the ability to work independently and with a high degree of autonomy to make decisions at the appropriate time, drawing on extensive experience and considering the needs of the situation, priorities, constraints and the availability of necessary information.
