Job Overview
Maintenance Craftsperson Fire:
Work within the Estates Operational Team to provide a safe, appropriate and cost‑effective environment for effective healthcare delivery. Assist in delivering PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and a reactive maintenance service – including out‑of‑hours service – to the Trust in accordance with the Service Level Agreement so that the Trust’s engineering/building systems and equipment are maintained proactively or returned to safe and effective operation as soon as possible after a failure.
Carry out repairs and remedial works on various aspects of the Trust’s Estates in accordance with statutory regulations and best practice; participate in the on‑call rota.
- Maintenance of Fire System.
- Carry out testing to Fire Systems to ensure compliance.
- Identify faults based on experience and knowledge and identify remedial actions.
- Work closely with Estates Management to manage the Fire System effectively and safely in accordance with HTM.
- Assist in maintaining Fire Damper Systems, Fire Compartmentation, Fire Doors and Emergency Lighting Systems.
- Carry out maintenance checks and tests as required.
- Plan and follow schedules for testing, working with Multi‑Skilled Technicians within the Estates Operational Team.

Person specification Qualifications & Training Essential criteria- Adequate Technical knowledge and evidence of Training.
- Appropriate Mechanical / Electrical / Building / Fire Apprenticeship.
- Knowledgeable in Fire Systems.
- Experience of working in a hospital environment or similar.
- Work with minimum supervision.
- Be able to adapt to work as part of a Team.
