Machine Shop Leader
Bath
Three shift pattern
Earlies, Lates, Nights
Up 57- 59k (including shift allowance)

Are you an experienced CNC professional with a passion for leadership and continuous improvement, then this could be the ideal new role for you!

As Machine Shop Shift Lead, you'll play a key role in driving safety, efficiency, and quality in the machine shop while supervising and mentoring a team of skilled machinists

The company design and manufacture parts for the defence industry and so it gives you an opportunity to work with some interesting and exciting technology and good long-term stability.

This would be on the 3- shift based on a 37-hour working week.

Nights Sun 10.30pm to 6am (Mon to Thurs 10pm to 6am) 30-minute unpaid break
Lates:
Mon to Thurs 2pm to 10pm (1:30 to 9pm Friday) 30-minute unpaid break
Earlies:
Mon to Fri 6am to 2pm (1.30pm Friday) 30-minute unpaid break

What you'll do:

  • Lead and motivate a skilled team to achieve production targets.
  • Ensure a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment.
  • Oversee machine operations, troubleshoot issues, and optimise workflow.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate on root cause analysis and maintain SOP integrity.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience in a CNC machine shop environment.
  • Ability to set and run a variety of machine tools.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proactive, supportive approach.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Computer literacy and a commitment to quality and safety.
