Shift role: 3 shift role. Nights:
Sunday 10.30 pm to 6 am, Monday to Thursday 10 pm to 6 am. Monday to Thursday 2 pm – 10 pm (1.30 pm to 9 pm Friday). Early:
Monday to Friday 6 am – 2 pm (1.30 pm Friday).
Are you passionate about precision and quality? We're looking for a Quality Inspector to join a leading manufacturing company designing and developing products for the defence industry. You will play a key role in ensuring products meet the highest standards and work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive quality and process improvements. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong quality inspection and metrology knowledge and a keen eye for detail to contribute to continuous improvement across the business.
AboutThe Role
As a Quality Inspector, you will carry out Central & Goods Inwards Inspection activities
, including product and process audits, and support ongoing improvement initiatives. You'll work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering team to ensure inspection requirements are integrated early in the process and help maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO
9001
, and other quality standards.
- Inspect first-off items and supplied goods using manual gauging, CMM, and surface testing equipment.
- Conduct in-process inspection audits and provide constructive feedback to production teams.
- Monitor and maintain inspection gauging, ensuring timely calibration.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering during process development.
- Drive process improvements using MSA and SPC methodologies.
- Support new product and process introductions.
- Maintain accurate documentation for product traceability.
- Assist in reviewing final and stage drawings prior to production release.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities across the business.
- Knowledge of ISO
9001:2008 (AS9100 experience preferred). - Strong understanding of metrology processes.
- Experience with CMM systems (VDMIS, Camio).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including geometric tolerancing.
- Proactive team player with a positive attitude and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills and computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, Project).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
- Eligible for UK SC clearance.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems (ideally Syteline).
