SummaryThe Housing Surveyor role is a temporary position within the Housing Directorate focused on executing planned improvements and major repairs across our housing stock of over 5200 homes in Central Bedfordshire. This position is integral to supporting the capital investment program and ensuring compliance with the Decent Homes Standard. The ideal candidate will prioritise customer satisfaction and integrate equality and diversity into all aspects of Housing Services delivery.
Responsibilities- Manage contracts and ensure quality assurance for improvement programs and major repairs.
- Conduct site inspections and scope works for various projects including kitchen and bathroom replacements, roofing, windows, doors and other internal / external improvements.
- Deliver major repairs and complex works for the repairs service.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach ensuring effective communication during surveys, inspections and improvements.
- Report to Housing Property Team Leaders ensuring technical and commercial standards are met for value for money in contract management.
- Degree or HND in Building Surveying, Construction Management or a related field or equivalent extensive experience in housing / property and planned works contract delivery.
- Knowledge of Social Housing Standards, Decent Homes Standard HHRSR and landlord responsibilities.
- Experience and / or knowledge of CDM regulations and Health & Safety.
