Job Description Job Summary
Responsible for design, management, and installation of landscape site planning and area development design for a zone or land of the UK Project.
Major Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of outdoor spaces that evoke emotion, spark imagination, and reflect a cohesive theme. Provide landscape, area development, site specific design, and management for the project themed zones and lands. Direct the design consultant and coordinate with in‑house support and additional vendor inputs. Configure layouts for land‑scale development of the theme park, guest‑facing areas, hotels, team member support spaces, and other exterior elements.
Develop and manage site plans, planting schemes, infrastructure, hardscape design, furnishings, irrigation, drainage, grading plans, and construction documents. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, set designers, operational partners, civil designers, and engineers to integrate inputs into the overall design package. Present design concepts to internal and external partners. Interface with the project team and management staff during and at the completion of each phase to validate design intent and cost targets. - Manage the phases of landscape design through construction documents, including the bidding process by coordinating with the project team, operations, consultants, and project management staff. Manage shop drawings and design integration for vendors. Coordinate with ride and show vendors to confirm all infrastructure and supporting connections are integrated into the design documentation.
- Lead the construction of the area development design, including bid review and negotiation, buy‑out, and on‑site management of the contractor and sub‑vendors. Support through daily management, inspections, and in‑field direction, the installation of all landscape and area development scope. Lead first‑article and mockup programs to confirm design prior to installation.
- Work under the direction of the park‑wide Senior Manager, Planning & Area Development Design, the Senior Architecture and Engineering Manager, the Executive Land Director, and Creative Director to ensure design intent and feasibility through all phases of design and construction.
- Work within the team environment to establish and maintain common cost and schedule goals.
- Interface and integrate with Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) International staff for ongoing quality control of projects.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Supervises design and construction vendors.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organisation’s policies and applicable laws.

- Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
- Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, urban planning, or equivalent required. Master’s degree in landscape architecture or urban design preferred.
- Licensed professional landscape architect preferred.
- Extensive relevant landscape architecture and planning experience with a focus on international resort and theme park development; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong portfolio showcasing thematic design work.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up.
- Exceptional storytelling, visualization, and communication skills.
