This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious, energetic Project Engineer, with an understanding of project frameworks, NEC 3/4 and are keen to move in to a Project Manager role with a solid firm who will support you with a recognised Project Management qualification.
We’re partnering with a well-established business looking for a confident, capable Project Engineer to take the reins on mechanical and infrastructure projects from concept through to commissioning. You’ll juggle design, procurement, manufacturing, installation… the whole shebang. And you’ll keep it all compliant, safe, profitable, and on track.
If you’re a natural organiser with a technical head and a calm hand, you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Be Doing- Leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver engineering/infrastructure projects end-to-end
- Keeping scope, budget, and timelines firmly under control
- Building, managing, and maintaining project plans, budgets, and risk registers
- Coordinating design, procurement, manufacturing, and on-site installation
- Running regular progress reviews and keeping senior stakeholders informed
- Managing change control and ensuring clear, accurate reporting
- Supporting bids and tenders with commercial and planning input
- Forecasting resource needs and ensuring project milestones are all on time
- Driving process improvement and boosting profitability wherever you can
- Collaborating closely with internal teams to clarify technical requirements
- Encouraging continuous improvement and first-class project delivery
- Experience as a Project Engineer with understanding/ experience of managing engineering or construction projects (water, mechanical, or infrastructure is ideal)
- Understanding of project management frameworks (APM, PRINCE2, etc.)
- Ability to read, interpret, and manage technical scopes
- A full UK driving licence
- Strong communicator, problem-solver, and natural organiser
You’ll be joining a close-knit, supportive team where your contribution actually matters and no two days play out the same way. Add to that a genuinely positive workplace and a benefits package that beats a lot of the competition:
- Pension: 4% employee / 4% employer
- Holiday buying scheme (up to 5 extra days)
- Enhanced maternity pay
- Career development including funded CIPS qualifications
If you’re driven, organised, and ready to take on complex, meaningful engineering projects and if the idea of joining a friendly, hard-working team sounds like your kind of move then we’d love to hear from you.
