Mechanical Estimator - Building Services (M&E) Bedford | £50,000 - £65,000 + Benefits | Full-Time | Permanent. Projects within ~25 miles of Bedford.

Our client, a well-established medium-sized M&E contractor, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their expanding team. They deliver a broad range of mechanical and electrical building services projects across the commercial sector and have a strong reputation for quality, consistency, and long-standing client relationships.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed estimating work, a mixed project portfolio, and being part of a supportive, well-structured business.

You will take responsibility for preparing accurate and competitive mechanical tenders across multiple commercial and public-sector projects.

• Prepare mechanical estimates for a variety of building services projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Complete detailed take-offs for mechanical systems and equipment.
• Produce tender submissions, cost breakdowns, and clarifications.
• Support value engineering proposals where required.
• Ensure tenders are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

A technically competent and detail-focused estimator with solid building services experience.

• Experience as a Mechanical Estimator, or a practical background such as plumbing, pipe fitting, mechanical installation, with exposure to quoting, pricing or estimating.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings and technical documents confidently.
• Strong communication skills when dealing with suppliers and subcontractors.
• High numerical accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders at once.

• Knowledge of the Bedfordshire supply chain.
• Familiarity with software such as Trimble or Simpro

• £50,000 - £65,000 depending on experience
