Civil 3d Highways Engineer

Our core offering is in the infrastructure sector but we actively support clients in environmental, water, buildings and rail.

Our Central Region is currently seeking Engineering Technicians with 3D design experience to support delivery of a variety of highway projects within the home counties and midlands. Using your excellent people, technical and delivery skills, you’ll drive a variety of civil designs for highways new build, renewal, maintenance and assessment works.

• Hold a valid UK driving licence.
• Minimum 2 years UK experience in a relevant industry.
• Academic qualification in Civil Engineering or an equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to converse with a wide range of colleagues across Engineering disciplines. Excellent spoken and written English.

• Prepare scheme drawings, from feasibility to detailed design with proven experience in 3D design packages, including MX, Auto Desk Civil 3D. Microdrainage (or similar) experience an advantage.
• Understand design standards, including Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual for Streets. Assist resolution of Engineering problems.
• Support delivery of Engineering projects using your excellent analytical skills to derive solutions to problems, using judgement to appraise and recommend options.
• Stay abreast of industry developments, changes in standards and latest software tools.
• Ensure tasks are carried out within agreed timescales and budgets.
• Ability to research information independently to find solutions to complex problems.
• Comply with Quality, Safety, Environment and managerial procedures.

• Working towards CEng, IEng or Eng Tech in an Engineering institution or related field.
• Experience of working with Local Authorities, Consultancies or major Contractors.
• Experience using Project Governance systems for Local Authorities.
