Job Overview
Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Male Support Workers to join our team in Bedlington. The service is male only and applicants must hold a full and valid driving licence.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Support Worker you will assist a gentleman in his 50s who lives in his own bungalow. Duties include supporting him with daily activities, medication, personal care, household tasks and emotional support. He attends a work placement from 9 am to 3:30 pm; support continues from 3:30 pm until a sleep‑in finish at 9 am the next morning. You will also help him with garden and woodwork activities.
Qualifications- Genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
All services are 24hr care. Rotas are prepared at least four weeks in advance. A sleep‑in is available with an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.
