DescriptionWe are hiring for our client, a well-established organisation in Belfast, who are seeking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join their established finance team. This Assistant Accountant job offers an excellent opportunity for someone with one to two years’ experience in a finance role who has started—or is keen to start—their professional accounting exams and is motivated to progress their career.
Working as an Assistant Accountant, you will gain hands-on exposure across core accounting processes while benefiting from a supportive environment, hybrid working, and a strong study support package. As Assistant Accountant, you will support the finance team across a broad range of accounting activities, including:
Assisting with month-end close processes
Preparing journals, accruals and prepayments
Supporting management accounts preparation
Balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
Assisting with audit preparation and statutory reporting
Supporting senior finance colleagues on ad-hoc projects
This Assistant Accountant role will suit someone who has:
1–2 years’ experience in a finance or accounts role
Started, or keen to start, professional accounting exams (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
A genuine desire to progress within an accountancy career
