We’re looking for a Tactical Buyer to support our Integrated Airspace‑protection Systems business unit (IAS) in Belfast. This role involves managing a personal purchasing budget of up to £1M for approximately 400 purchase parts and negotiating and approving purchase orders and sub‑contracts up to £15,000.

• Generate and issue Purchase Orders (POs) using Thales ERP and procurement systems.
• Sign and approve purchase orders within Delegation of Authority Limits.
• Coordinate invoice and account queries related to purchase orders to support cash flow.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions.
• Support assessment and appraisal of new and existing suppliers.
• Collaborate with the global Thales Procurement community to secure optimal procurement solutions.
• Issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) for programmes and bids.
• Interface with internal stakeholders to meet requirements.
• Determine and manage export control status of incoming material.
• Prepare and manage business reviews with suppliers.
• Capture, develop and improve supplier performance.
• Comply with Thales procurement processes.

• Experience as a manufacturing buyer or equivalent purchasing role.
• Proficiency with an ERP system.
• General commercial knowledge.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills across all business levels.
• MCIPS or equivalent qualification is desirable; commitment to pursue MCIPS is essential.
