Client - Risk Officer - Policy Governance Specialist

This role will report to the Client Policy Team Manager (C14) and will be responsible for implementing key processes and establishing adequate governance around Policy Documents. The role works closely with 1st, 2nd and 3rd LoD teams to enhance the business control framework and ensure compliance with internal policies, standards and external regulations.
Responsibilities- Support document owners in developing fit‑for‑purpose policy documents aligned with business objectives and industry laws and regulations.
- Validate that document requirements are clear, prescriptive, and have a path to implementation and adherence, and manage ongoing compliance with maintenance, monitoring and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate periodic policy conventions, including approval of new, revised and retired Policies, Standards and Procedures, and oversee progress of documents in development.
- Maintain visibility into new and revised enterprise policy documents with applicability to Client; drive comprehensive reviews to represent Client concerns.
- Coordinate periodic conventions for pre‑vetting new or amended policy documents, impact analysis and implementation concerns.
- Identify and coordinate implementation actions where development of Client‑specific procedures will be required.
- Provide guidance and advice to Client teams on policy requirements, including collating responses to ad‑hoc requests.
- Actively involve in programs, projects and transformation work streams related to policy documents.
- Relevant years of experience in business risk & controls, corporate governance or assurance domains.
- Prior experience in policy documentation governance and management, including coordination of related governance conventions; drafting policies or advising on policy content preferred.
- Proven experience interacting with 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines of defense on policy matters.
- Proven experience critically interpreting regulations, policies and standards and converting them into logical procedures and control documents.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, strategic thinking, professional judgment and ability to challenge the status quo.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead multiple projects, multitask and deliver results against deadlines.
- Interpersonal skills, collaborative approach, and ability to work with people at all levels and across geographic locations.
- Proactive, “no surprises” communication style.
- Flexibility in skillset and approach, with a range of experience.
Bachelor’s/University degree;
Master’s degree preferred.
