As a natural organiser with a passion for media, the Junior Production Coordinator Apprenticeship offers an ideal entry point. You may help with the set‑up of filming on location or in studio for programmes such as The One Show, or schedule crews and freelancers for Women’s Hour. No prior media experience or qualifications are required – just enthusiasm and problem‑solving skills.

BBC Audio produces a wide range of radio programmes and podcasts for stations including Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 Music, Radio 4, World Service and BBC Sounds. Our teams work with leading names in music, entertainment and journalism to create content enjoyed across the UK and globally. As an apprentice you will support production teams behind the scenes, helping ensure everything runs smoothly across studio, office and location‑based work.

YOUR

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
  • Support production teams with administrative tasks and logistics
  • Meet and greet guests and contributors
  • Help organise production meetings and travel arrangements
  • Type up scripts and running orders
  • Assist with studio operations and production paperwork

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship you may progress to roles such as Production Management Assistant, Production Secretary or Production Coordinator, depending on experience both within and outside the BBC.

This scheme is aimed at non‑graduates. If you have a degree and are interested in similar roles, we recommend applying through the BBC careers site or exploring other apprenticeship schemes.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
  • Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
  • Have lived in the UK continuously for the last three years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
  • Be legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
  • Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation
  • For candidates under 19 at the start, have at least Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent; if not, you must achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end‑point assessment
