We are hiring a Physicist who will report into a Project Manager within the Product Engineering Team of our Technology Department. The Physicist will provide optical expertise across Andor’s product portfolio, including Spectrographs, Microscopy Systems, Instruments and Cameras. The role extends to leading and delivering product enhancement projects; including image sensor and optical instrument optimisation, robust root‑cause analysis of recurring issues, and product quality testing strategy.
Responsibilities- Provide optical technical support to cross‑functional teams (product management, support, quality engineering, customer returns, production NCP support, supply chain/suppliers).
- Lead product enhancement projects including image sensor and optical instrument optimisation.
- Conduct robust root‑cause analysis of recurring issues.
- Develop and execute product quality testing strategy.
- BSc or MSci (or higher) in a Physical Science or related discipline (Physics, Electronic Engineering, Opto‑Electronic Engineering) and 3 years relevant experience.
- OR National Diploma (or equivalent) in a Physical Science or related discipline and 5 years relevant experience.
- Relevant experience can be gained through PhD studies.
This position is based at our Belfast headquarters full time onsite.
