Health & Safety Engineer

Essential Criteria

It is essential that the successful candidate meets the following requirements.

• Professional
  
  Qualification:
  
  NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate (or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & Safety).
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Health & Safety Engineer (or equivalent technical safety role) within an engineering, manufacturing, utilities, or other high risk environment, with direct responsibility for designing, implementing, and evaluating safety systems and processes.
• OR currently hold or previously held NIE Networks Safety Rules or Equivalent Authorisation as a Senior Authorised Person - SAP - (up to 33kV Distribution or 110kV or 275kV Transmission)
• OR currently hold or previously held NIE Networks Safety Rules Authorisation as a Senior Authorised Industrial Staff – e.g. SAIS 1 or SAIS 2 Practical understanding.
• Knowledge of safe systems of work:
  Demonstrated understanding of organisational safe systems of work and their practical application in operational settings.
• Legislation Awareness:
  Strong working knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
• Safety Leadership:
  Proven track record of acting as a role model in safety, supporting and developing a positive safety culture across teams and contractors.

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and engage employees and stakeholders at all lev
