Overview

The Role:

AA Euro Group are seeking a motivated and experienced Development Project Manager to join a leading renewables company based in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team driving the development of large-scale renewable energy projects across Northern Ireland. This role will strongly suit someone with large Wind Sector experience in particular.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the process of securing planning consents and amendments.
  • Ensure planning compliance throughout the pre-construction phase.
  • Oversee all planning studies, including EIA, visuals, and consultant management.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders (landowners, planners, politicians, consultants, utilities, local authorities).
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including Senior Management, Renewables Development & O&M Teams, Corporate Development, and Regulation.
  • Conduct resource assessments and contribute to technology selection and site layout optimisation.
  • Engage in commercial negotiations with stakeholders and project counter parties.
  • Oversee risk and opportunity management across multiple projects.
  • Provide input to regulatory consultations and lobbying activities.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Lead project reporting and resourcing as needed.
  • Support the due diligence of acquisition opportunities.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of the renewables industry, particularly large-scale project development.
  • Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects and teams (including consultants/contractors).
  • Working knowledge of the Northern Ireland planning process.
  • Full clean driving licence.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience managing projects through development and construction phases.
  • Skilled in community consultation and engagement.
  • Understanding of property agreements relevant to project development.
  • Familiarity with renewables construction contracts.
  • Knowledge of grid connection agreements.
