VANRATH are delighted to be working with a very well known public sector organisation in Belfast City Centre who are currently recruiting an Accountant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain public sector experience with a well known organisation in NI that provide a fantastic service to the community. The Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of Annual Financial Statements, month end preparation of budgetary information and other statutory returns.

This is an interim contract role for 6 months initially, with the potential for extension. To be considered for this role, it is essential to be a fully Qualified Accountant, ideally with previous experience in public sector.

About you

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 3+ years' post qualified experience
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines in a demanding environment
• Track record in managing and leading a team

What you'll do

• Ensure completion of appropriate statutory returns
• Manage and co-ordinate the preparation of annual financial statements
• Ensuring all budgets, forecasts are prepared
• Production of capital investment appraisals
• Monitor budgets working closely with budget managers
