Principal QA Engineer

MCS Group are seeking a Principal QA Engineer to join our close client, who are a global leader in the Fin Tech space. The company is embarking on an extensive expansion project, with nearly one hundred new roles being added to their Belfast operations, making this a very exciting time to get on-board with them. You would be joining their internal team that builds the platforms that manage and analyse the brokerage data powering their business.

As a senior QA, you'll shape test strategy, drive automation, and ensure their next generation of back‑office systems deliver maximum value to their users.

• Lead testing within the team and mentor junior QA engineers.
• Build and maintain automated frameworks to validate back‑end services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Define and deliver test strategies covering functional, integration, regression, and data testing.
• Work closely with engineers and data specialists to understand requirements and design effective tests.
• Carry out hands‑on automation and end‑to‑end testing, while also supporting defect triage and resolution.
• Champion quality standards, improve test processes, and promote an Agile way of working.
• Maintain clear documentation of test cases, results, and defects.

• Strong experience in QA, including experience in a senior or lead role.
• Strong automation background with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, NUnit

• Solid coding skills in Python
  . Familiarity with C# or Typescript is a plus.
• Experience testing APIs, services, and large‑scale data pipelines.
• Good knowledge of AWS and cloud‑based testing environments.
• Competent with Git

  , and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communicator and collaborator with an Agile mindset and problem‑solving approach.

Up to £65,000, with an up to 10% bonus.
