This role is part of the Data Governance, Strategy and Quality team within the Data Directorate at Companies House. Companies House holds the largest source of administrative data about companies in the UK and forms a key input into many statistics and research into business and the economy.

Base pay range

We are looking for a talented, experienced analyst to join the team. Working in a busy section, the post-holder must be flexible to support the delivery of competing priorities across the wider team.

Opportunity

  • Develop skills in managing internal and external stakeholder relationships, to align goals, understand and resolve technical issues and ensure delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the Companies House Data Quality pipeline, including end‑to‑end Data Quality Action Plans in line with the Government Data Quality Framework.
  • Deliver analytical research projects, documenting entity purpose, business rules and analytical relationships, forming the basis for Data Quality metrics.
  • Communicate findings throughout the Data Quality life cycle, engaging with Data Owners and stakeholders to address risks and recommend actions.
  • Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and introduce new technologies, training the team on data quality initiatives.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including Action Plans, guidelines, data and metadata standards, and ensuring code is well‑documented.
Where you will be working

You will be aligned to either the Cardiff, Belfast or Edinburgh office, with a hybrid approach that supports a healthy work‑home balance.

Working hours

This is a full‑time position (37 hours per week), though part‑time hours and job shares are possible.

Person specification
  • Excellent data visualisation and interpretation skills.
  • Stakeholder management with confidence across all organisational levels.
  • Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and team collaboration.
  • Versatility and willingness to work across all areas of Data Quality activities.
Experience
  • Production of reporting products highlighting key stories about datasets.
  • Managing scenarios with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
  • Risk identification, escalation and management.

Technical skills
  • Data analysis and interpretation.

Eligibility

Nationalities that meet our requirements are outlined below. Successful candidates must meet the security requirements for Security Clearance (SC), which requires being a UK resident for a minimum of three years out of the last five years. Companies House cannot offer visa sponsorship through this campaign.
