MCS Group is working with a leading professional services organisation in Belfast as they look for an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer to join their global support team. This 3rd Line Support Engineer will focus on maintaining and improving business-critical enterprise applications used across multiple regions. Strong SQL skills are essential, as is demonstrable experience in a similar, 3rd line role.
The successful 3rd Line Support Engineer will join on a temporary contract for 6-9 months.
- This team is the final point of escalation for all complex technical fixes and issues.
- You will provide advanced support for finance, CRM, business intake and other core systems.
- Investigate complex application and SQL issues and implement fixes or enhancements.
- Monitor databases, SQL replication and Always On configurations; action performance and security issues.
- Coordinate patches, updates and security remediation.
- Support hybrid environments across Azure AVS, Azure native and on-premises infrastructure.
- Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to change management.
- Participate in an on-call rota for critical applications.
- Prior experience in a similar 3rd line support position is essential, ideally in an enterprise environment.
- Strong SQL Server administration and scripting skills are essential.
- Experience with Windows Server/Linux and cloud/SaaS environments.
- Scripting ability (Power Shell, Bash, SQL).
- Confident troubleshooting with keen analytical skills.
- Due to the nature of this role, it is vital that you have experience in a client/user-facing role with solid customer service skills.
- Experience with Elite 3E or InTapp Open would be nice to have, but not essential.
Equivalent to £50k per annum (£25.65 per hour)
Location:
Belfast - 2+ days per week in the office required
Duration: 6-9 months
