MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a growing technology-led business in expanding its data and analytics function. Data is a core asset for the organisation, and the team is focused on building high-quality data products that support decision‑making across commercial, financial, and operational teams.

We're looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join a small, collaborative data team. This is a hands‑on individual contributor role where you'll take ownership of analytics datasets and models that are used directly by the business and external partners.

The role is dbt‑heavy and well suited to someone who enjoys building clean, reliable transformation layers and working closely with stakeholders to turn data into insight.

• Building and maintaining analytics‑ready data models in the data warehouse
• Spending the majority of your time working in dbt
• Writing and optimising complex SQL to transform raw data into usable datasets
• Creating data products that support reporting, dashboards, and business insights
• Working cross‑functionally with business and technical stakeholders
• Supporting use cases such as financial reporting, scenario analysis, and partner‑facing data
• Taking ownership of subject areas and driving conversations in a small team environment

• dbt (core requirement)
• SQL
• Modern cloud data warehouse (e.g. Snowflake, Big Query, Redshift)
• BI tools such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau
• Some exposure to Python and orchestration tools (e.g. Dagster) is beneficial, but not the main focus

• Strong experience as an Analytics Engineer or Data Analyst
• Very strong dbt experience and confidence owning data models end to end
• Solid SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
• Good business understanding and the ability to explain insights clearly
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with others
• Experience in consulting or working with external stakeholders is a plus
• Curious, proactive, and happy taking ownership in a growing team
