THE EMPLOYER IS: TECHDESK C.I.C The role involves supporting clients with basic IT tasks, maintaining records, assisting with forms and spreadsheets, and helping improve digital systems using Microsoft 365 and SharePoint. The role also provides valuable skills development opportunities, including gaining experience in remote IT support and troubleshooting, building knowledge of Microsoft 365, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams, and enhancing communication and customer service skills in a technical environment.
Further learning includes developing time management and issue-tracking abilities, along with an increased awareness of IT security and safe digital practices.
- Providing basic remote IT support to clients under supervision, using phone, email, or remote access tools, as well as assisting with the installation and setup of software, email accounts, and cloud systems.
- Maintaining accurate records of support calls, logged issues, and completed actions, while updating and organising documentation such as user guides and support templates.
- Monitoring the helpdesk inbox and escalating complex technical queries to the IT Manager when necessary.
- Supporting the maintenance of laptops, printers, and other office IT equipment, alongside assisting in testing and setting up devices for client projects.
- Undertaking other reasonable tasks to support day-to-day IT operations.
- Ability to follow data protection, confidentiality, and cyber security procedures at all times.
- Good general education including English and Maths.
- Confident using computers, email, and Microsoft Office.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Willing to learn.
- Interest in IT, technology, or digital systems.
- Experience helping others with IT issues.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or other cloud platforms.
- Awareness of data protection and cyber security.
- Interest in community or social enterprise work.
