Location / working pattern:

Target start:
Ideally before 31 December 2026
You’ll run our paid media in-house, starting with Meta, taking over the day-to-day running of paid media from our agency. You’ll report to our CMO, who leads marketing.
We’re a fast-growing UK direct-to-consumer brand running legally compliant online prize draws for high-value prizes. We work in twelve-week competition cycles, each built around launch, urgency and closing offers. Paid social, especially Meta, is our main source of new customers.
This is a small team, not an agency department. You’ll work day to day with our CMO, our CCO (commercial, forecasting and data), our data analyst (reporting) and our videographer‑editor. Your time is protected for performance first.
Room to grow: you’ll join as a manager with no Head of Performance above you. Our aim is for this role to become Head of Performance within 12 months. More on that below.
What you'll be responsible for, and what you'll grow intoFor your first six months, you’ll run paid media within a strategy and budget that our CMO sets, and be responsible for delivering it. From month six, you’ll own the paid strategy and be accountable for its results, with our CMO signing off overall budget and the split across channels.
You’ll be responsible for:- Meta performance. Planning, building, launching and optimising campaigns across each twelve-week competition cycle, against agreed ROAS and new-customer acquisition cost targets.
- Budget and phasing. Spending to plan across the cycle and moving budget as demand changes. Peaks around launches and draw closings are very large.
- Creative testing. Running a structured testing plan (hooks, formats, angles, audiences) and turning the results into a brief for the next round of creative.
- Performance insight. Using our weekly all-channel report and end-of-cycle review (spend, revenue, ROAS, CAC, new versus returning customers) to explain what's driving results and what to change next, checking platform-reported results against our own data and incrementality tests rather than taking in-platform ROAS at face value.
- Tracking. Making sure the pixel, Conversions API, UTMs and audiences are set up correctly and kept that way, with our commercial and data team.
- Channel expansion. Once Meta is stable, testing and then scaling other social channels, starting with Tik Tok. In time, overseeing Google too, with the aim of bringing it in-house.
- Ad compliance and account health. Making sure every ad meets the CAP Code, ASA guidance and platform policies for prize promotions, including 18+ audience targeting and clear free-entry and significant-terms wording, and keeping our ad accounts in good standing (disapprovals, restrictions and appeals).
- Creative briefs and scripts, with our CMO and videographer‑editor
- Whitelisting creator and UGC content for paid use (partnership ads)
- Campaign planning for each cycle, with our CMO
- Landing page and offer tests, with our CMO
- Remarketing and customer-list audiences, with our CRM lead
This is our first in-house performance hire. You’ll be hired as a manager with no Head of Performance above you blocking the way up. As spend scales and we add Tik Tok, Snapchat and Google, you’ll take on more channels and more budget.
Our aim is for this role to become Head of Performance within 12‑18 months: owning paid strategy, the channel mix across every paid channel, and hiring and leading, accountable for results, and building the team as it grows. The step up is linked to results.…
