The PEACEPLUS Interfaith & Belief Project forms part of the Belfast PEACEPLUS Local Action Plan, managed by Belfast City Council.
It aims to improve relations between and towards faith and belief practitioners in Belfast.
Working in a diverse team, you will help codesign content on faith and belief perspectives for use in schools, youth and public settings
. The aim is to build confidence and skills in students to understand and interact with the worldviews of others
. Part of this is to develop content for migrant youth to better understand and interact with those influenced by 'local' Belfast faith and culture perspectives.
You can also co-deliver this content
, with training beforehand.
You will work with a wide range of faith and belief perspectives and with project partners – Corrymeela Community, Redeeming Our Communities NI, Belfast Islamic Centre, and Northern Ireland Interfaith Forum.
You can help see your own faith or belief perspective (if any) positively portrayed and learn to relate well with other perspectives. If you do not have a formal faith or belief, we have opportunities – we still want to hear from you!
There are three requirements for you to register:
To live, work or regularly worship at a place with a Belfast postcode - check it at Even if you do not have one, contact us to explore possibilities.
To be open to working with those of different faiths and beliefs
. You do NOT require theological or spiritual knowledge though – we give training and guidance on what to do.
To be willing to provide details about yourself for registration and for feedback, needed for the running of the project and to measure success.
Codesign sessions will be on average of 3-4 hours per month - both online and at faith venues across the city.
The Belfast Local Community Action Plan is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
