Full stack Cloud Developer – GEA Group, Belfast

Mission: Transform sustainable agriculture by building next‑generation farming software that enhances animal welfare and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop modern, scalable web applications using Angular (frontend) and Spring Boot (backend).
  • Maintain and evolve a robust microservices architecture deployed in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with product owners, designers, and Dev Ops engineers to deliver high‑quality features from concept to production.
  • Implement cloud‑native solutions using Azure services such as Azure Dev Ops, Azure Key Vault, and Azure IoT Hub.
  • Ensure code quality through automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration pipelines.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, ensuring high availability and reliability.
Qualifications
  • Proficient in Java and Spring Boot for backend development.
  • Strong experience with Angular or React for building modern, responsive UIs.
  • Solid understanding of Docker and containerised application development.
  • Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, ideally in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Familiarity with Postgre

    SQL or other relational databases.
  • Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
  • Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in cross‑functional, multi‑cultural teams.
  • Passion for clean code, quality, and continuous improvement.
