We are looking for a senior backend engineer who loves tackling high volume data ingestion and tuning ultra-low-latency services. If you thrive in a collaborative, high-ownership environment and want to shape the future of audience targeting at scale, we’d love to meet you.

Our team builds Magnite’s data-management-platform (DMP) and audience-targeting solutions. We:
* Operate terabyte-scale data pipelines that aggregate billions of records every day
* Stream, ingest and asynchronously process 50 million+ events every day
* Run sub-20 ms, high-QPS microservices in production
* Web scrape & content classify almost the whole of internet
* Solve problems with a polyglot approach — Java, Go, PySpark, and the right tool for the job
** In this role you will:
*** Design & build streaming-ingestion pipelines and asynchronous workers that aggregate events with Kafka
* Design & build APIs for internal and external customers
* Create high-QPS, low-latency microservices that power real-time audience targeting
* Own service life-cycle end-to-end design, coding, code-review, CI/CD, observability
* Collaborate cross-functionally with Ops, Data Science, and Product to turn ideas into production systems
* Work collaboratively with multiple teams to deliver quality software
* Support operation of services in production
* Perform design and code reviews
** We’re looking for someone with:
*** 4+ years of working as a software engineer
* Strong computer-science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis)
* Proficiency in Java
* and/or
* Go – with a willingness to work in both
* Proficiency in using Relational & Document storage, and caching systems
* Passion for learning new languages and technologies quickly
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* The ability to demonstrable experience in mentoring engineers
* A visible passion for developing software, creating solutions, and growing people
