Senior Software Engineer; Back End

As a Senior Software Engineer you will be part of a talented team delivering business‑critical software for the internal broking division and their external customer base. You will work within an Agile environment, from design through to implementation, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and collaborative delivery.

• Work closely with Solution Architects and Principal Engineers to build solutions that align with the IT strategy/vision.
• Provide support and mentoring to other team members.
• Take ownership and accountability for delivery and quality of engineering solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements, adhere to best practices and are delivered on time.
• Continuously improve, experimenting with technologies and methodologies to enhance delivery and guarantee the best solution.
• Communicate progress effectively and raise impediments early to minimise impact on delivery.

• Demonstrable experience designing, developing and maintaining distributed, event‑driven, cloud‑native systems.
• Expertise in the latest .NET Framework and .NET Core (C#).
• Experience in API (REST, Graph
  
  QL) design and development.
• Experience with relational database design and optimisation (MSSQL, MySQL, etc.).
• Experience deploying and managing cloud assets (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Appreciation of the full SDLC and proactive involvement from design to post‑release support.
• Pragmatic, delivery‑focused approach, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail, highly organised and innovative problem‑solving.
• Experience building scalable automated testing solutions for complex systems.

• Proficient in WPF application development.
• Experience with financial/trading platforms and knowledge of financial markets.
• Knowledge of FIX protocol and handling of FIX interactions.
• Experience with AWS services.
• Experience with Java, JavaScript or React.
• Experience with serverless architecture and microservices.
• Experience with TDD, BDD or similar approaches.
