A global Fin Tech organisation is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join its growing engineering function in Belfast. This is a senior, high-impact role offering the opportunity to shape architecture, lead technical teams, and deliver mission‑critical systems operating  hiring manager is actively reviewing profiles and keen to engage with candidates who bring strong technical leadership, deep engineering experience, and a proven ability to design and deliver complex platforms.

• Leading the design and evolution of large‑scale, high‑performance software systems
• Providing technical leadership across architecture, development, and delivery
• Guiding engineers through complex problem‑solving and technical change
• Collaborating cross‑functionally with Product, QA, Dev Ops and Agile teams
• Mentoring and developing engineers through coaching, reviews and knowledge sharing
• Driving platform resilience, performance optimisation and long‑term scalability

• A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• 10+ years’ professional experience in software engineering
• A strong track record working on mission‑critical, high‑volume applications
• Proven ability to lead technical teams, influence architecture decisions, and mentor engineers
• Significant experience in system design, architecture at scale, and performance optimisation

• Strong Java and Object‑Oriented Programming expertise
• Experience with modern development practices and cloud‑native architectures
• Exposure to technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and modern front‑end frameworks is beneficial
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments
