Senior Software Developer (.NET

MCS Group is proud to be supporting a global Irish success story in their search for an experienced .NET Developer who enjoys building and improving mature, large-scale desktop applications. This role suits someone who likes working on established systems, solving problems, and delivering steady, reliable improvements that users feel straight away.

You'll work on a well-used Windows desktop product with plenty of scope to design features, improve performance, and contribute to the overall direction of the application.

(Hybrid/Remote from Ireland)

• Developing and enhancing a complex Windows desktop application using .NET Framework and .NET Core
• Designing new features and improving existing ones from start to finish
• Working with SQL Server to support data-heavy features and improve performance
• Investigating technical issues and shaping long-term improvements
• Collaborating with other development teams, including those working on web components
• Supporting colleagues across the business when technical input is needed
• Helping guide and mentor junior engineers where appropriate

• Strong experience in .NET development (around 8 years or more)
• Solid background working with Windows Forms
• Confidence writing SQL and understanding how to optimise database queries
• Experience working on large, complex desktop applications
• A practical approach to debugging and performance tuning
• Comfortable working in an Agile environment
• Someone who enjoys improving a product, not just maintaining it
