River Ridge – HGV Driver

Location: Duncrue Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom

Employment type: Permanent / Full Time (Mon‑Fri, min 40 hrs)

Shift: Start 5:30am, day shift, rotation Monday to Saturday

Start date: Immediate

• Ensure excellent customer service skills that support the River Ridge Brand
• Ensure Health & Safety adherence at all times
• Complete vehicle checks in line with operating licence procedures, reporting any defects to the Transport Office (both electronically and verbally)
• Follow all regulations relating to driver's hours and safe operation of heavy goods vehicles
• Work collaboratively with the transport team to ensure excellent operational service is maintained, and continually improved
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Undertake all necessary training, and cooperate with the security clearance process as required
• Any other duties as delegated by the Transport Department

• Must hold a valid HGV licence – Category 'C'
• Must hold a Digital Tachograph card and Full Driver CPC
• Full UK Driving Licence (max of 6 penalty points)
• Basic disclosure checks (i.e., Access NI) required and should be maintained
• Ability to undertake manual work
• Flexible approach to working hours is required in relation to finish times, weekends, and bank holidays
• Excellent customer service skills
• Team player
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Good knowledge of driver's hours, rules, and regulations

• Minimum of 6 months HGV driving experience
• Previous experience working in the waste industry
• Any offer of employment will be subject to a successful driving assessment *

• Competitive hourly rate – £15.73ph (day shift)
• Annual bonus scheme available
• Overtime rate of time and a half for hours worked over 44 hours Monday to Friday
