Overview

The Small Animal Surgery Service of the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine of the University of Bern is seeking candidates for the following position, starting January 1st, 2026:
Veterinarian specialised in small animal surgery.

• 80% clinical work in surgery with assistants, interns and students (20% OFF clinics).
• Close supervision of students (rounds, student consultation, castration project, etc.).
• Active participation in the emergency surgery system (on-call duty).

• Preferably ECVS/ACVS certified or equivalent
• Good professional experience and solid knowledge of surgery
• Exceptional motivation for teaching
• Good language skills in French and/or German

• A fixed-term contract for six years with the possibility of extension
• Very good, friendly team in a modern clinic
• Possibility for your own development in the field of small animal surgery
• Excellent leisure opportunities
