Senior Advisor – UK BAT (Recruitment Reference: 32438)

Do you want to make a lasting positive change to the environment? As a Senior Advisor in the UK BAT team you can.

• Support the drafting of BAT Conclusions and liaise with Technical Working Groups.
• Present a final document suitable for publication as a new, UK‑wide environmental standard for industry.
• Review technical documents with an eye for detail and a critical assessment of arguments and data.
• Coordinate the work of technical authors and ensure accurate, evidence‑led process.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables, achieving high quality and timely results.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in environmental regulation across industrial sectors.
• Strong understanding of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation, including IED and Environmental Permitting Regulations.
• Capability to critically review, analyse and present complex industrial data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience coordinating and reviewing technical documents and influencing stakeholders.
• Planning, prioritising and resource management skills to meet deadlines.

• Understanding of BAT conclusions in permits and their implications for industry and the environment.
• Effective communication with a range of stakeholders, presenting complex information clearly.
• Evidence‑led approach to building consensus and influencing decisions.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds, encouraging inclusive practices.
• Strong problem solving and continuous improvement orientation.
