Senior Advisor – UK BAT (Recruitment Reference: 32438)
Do you want to make a lasting positive change to the environment? As a Senior Advisor in the UK BAT team you can.
Responsibilities- Support the drafting of BAT Conclusions and liaise with Technical Working Groups.
- Present a final document suitable for publication as a new, UK‑wide environmental standard for industry.
- Review technical documents with an eye for detail and a critical assessment of arguments and data.
- Coordinate the work of technical authors and ensure accurate, evidence‑led process.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables, achieving high quality and timely results.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in environmental regulation across industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation, including IED and Environmental Permitting Regulations.
- Capability to critically review, analyse and present complex industrial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience coordinating and reviewing technical documents and influencing stakeholders.
- Planning, prioritising and resource management skills to meet deadlines.
- Understanding of BAT conclusions in permits and their implications for industry and the environment.
- Effective communication with a range of stakeholders, presenting complex information clearly.
- Evidence‑led approach to building consensus and influencing decisions.
- Ability to work with diverse backgrounds, encouraging inclusive practices.
- Strong problem solving and continuous improvement orientation.
An inclusive incident management objective will be included in your development plan, with support and training to match your needs.
