Quality Manager
- Annual Salary: Up to £50,000
- Location: Berwick-upon-Tweed

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Manager to oversee all quality assurance activities at our manufacturing site. This role is crucial for maintaining our compliance with ISO
9001, FSC, PEFC, ISO
14001, and BRC standards, and ensuring our packaging meets food contact materials regulations. The ideal candidate will be the main point of contact for quality on-site and will lead our Quality Department to achieve world-class manufacturing standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all quality-related queries within the plant, acting as a key member of the senior team.
- Manage the Quality Department, ensuring compliance, performance measurement, and regular review.
- Lead audits for BRC, ISO
9001, ISO
14001, FSC, and PEFC, and manage both internal and external quality/hygiene audits. - Develop and implement KPIs and a development plan for the department and individual team members.
- Maintain and control quality documentation required for the Management System.
- Lead internal and external complaint investigations through root cause analysis and present findings to the management team.
- Ensure all Quality Control equipment is maintained and calibrated.
- Administer daily essential Quality Assurance activities and report on Quality metrics regularly.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in food chemistry or a related field.
- Experience with food contact materials regulations within the local country of production and Europe.
- Proven Quality & Hygiene management experience.
- Familiarity with migration reports, chemical analysis, and composition of packaging materials.
- Experience in toxicological risk assessment is advantageous.
- Excellent command of English, with effective communication and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and managerial skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in a similar role within a packaging manufacturing business is preferred.
