Information Governance Specialist

The job itself

The Information Governance and Feedback Team are seeking a Information Governance Specialist to join a well-established team within Legal and Democratic Services. The post holder support the organisation in ensuring compliance with Data Protection legislation, Surveillance Cameras, Freedom of Information Act and other relevant legislation.

Specifically coordinating the management and response of data protection and freedom of Information requests. The role will be specifically responsible for ensuring legislation is complied with and deadlines are met. In addition, they will support organisations to ensure that any surveillance camera regimes which are compliant with applicable laws. They will provide daily advice to all levels of staff and deal with applicants on Information Governance related matters.

Providing reports and information routinely and on request to ensure compliance. They will also take an active role in records management.

This role does work to legislative and statutory deadlines. In addition the role does require the review and redaction of sensitive information which may contain offending incidents or social care information.
