Make a real difference in your community

We are seeking a positive, motivated and committed Recovery Coordinator to join our multidisciplinary Drug and Alcohol Service based at Erith Health Centre in Bexley. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting individuals aged 18+ to build and sustain long-term recovery.

About the Role

As a Recovery Coordinator, you will work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, delivering psychosocial interventions through both one-to-one support and peer-led group work. You will support service users to build recovery capital, increase self-efficacy and achieve their individual recovery goals, recognising that people are experts in their own lives and may simply need support along their recovery journey.

The team consists of 7 Recovery Coordinators, 1 Trainee Recovery Coordinator, and 2 Criminal Justice Recovery Coordinators, working closely alongside colleagues within prison and probation services. The service is run by South London and Maudsley (SLAM) and has a strong focus on psychosocial interventions.

What You’ll Do

Manage a caseload of service users, devising, implementing and reviewing ongoing recovery and treatment plans

Carry out triage, screening and comprehensive assessments

Deliver structured psychosocial interventions in both group and one-to-one settings

Work collaboratively with partner agencies to support service user progression from engagement through to sustained recovery

Facilitate access to treatment pathways and community resources to build recovery and social capital

Liaise with families, significant others and professionals where appropriate

About you

We are looking for individuals who can confidently navigate a fast-paced service and support people with complex needs. You will be adaptable, compassionate and solution-focused, with a strong commitment to recovery-oriented practice.

Direct substance use experience is desirable but not essential, and we actively encourage applications from candidates with transferable skills and relevant experience.

Ideally, you will have :

Experience working within the drug and alcohol sector

Experience delivering group interventions

An understanding of the impact of ketamine use on individuals and communities

Strong communication, assessment and organisational skills
