Production Manager; Bioreactor​/Food​/Fermentation

Position: Production Manager (Bioreactor/ Food/ Fermentation)
About the role:

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations and production. This role requires deep technical expertise across fermentation and downstream processing, along with strong execution capability in managing day-to-day production operations.

Responsibilities:

End-to-end ownership of production operations, including fermentation, downstream processing, and plant utilities
Ensure strict adherence to quality, safety, hygiene, and documentation standards
Coordinate closely with R&D, QA/QC, maintenance, engineering, and supply chain teams
Lead production planning, shift scheduling, and manpower management
Troubleshoot process and equipment-related issues and drive continuous process optimization
Maintain batch manufacturing records, SOPs, operating logs, and audit readiness
Support commissioning, validation, and scale-up of new equipment and processes
Play a key role in Phase-2 expansion planning and future capacity scale-up initiatives

Good to have:

Prior 15–20 years of hands-on experience in biotech, fermentation-based, or biomanufacturing environments
Strong, proven expertise in both fermentation and downstream processing
In-depth understanding of bioreactor operations, purification systems, utilities, and plant operations
Prior experience managing production teams in food-grade / regulated environments
Hardworking, reliable, and execution-focused with a strong sense of ownership
Comfortable operating in a startup pace with evolving systems and high accountability
