Job Purpose &

Key Responsibilities

Own Electrical and Instrumentation infrastructure in conjunction with maintenance and site facilities. Report directly to the Operations Manager and deliver daily goals in planned maintenance and breakdown management. Support projects in electrical infrastructure builds and instrumentation, maintaining plant electrics from incomers to field devices. Act as the ‘go‑to’ individual for anything related to your skill area. An expectation of hands‑on task completion is necessary.

Responsible for new and existing electrical instrument wiring, commissioning and calibration. Support for mechanical disciplines is expected and reciprocated to promote teamwork, shared knowledge and best practices. Occasional project support will include electricals up to 415 V and above 415 V.

This role is based at the Oceans Park site in Wallasey, with occasional visits to other locations as required. Standard working hours are 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday, with flexibility. Expect plant support during breakdowns or emergencies outside normal hours, and occasional flexibility for planned maintenance and project work, which may involve temporary shifts or out‑of‑hours activity. The company will make every effort to minimise disruption to regular working patterns.

Essential

Core Skills
  • Proven experience in electrical plant maintenance (reliability and reactive).
  • Practical experience with 415 V systems; basic awareness of voltages above 415 V.
  • Compliance with relevant codes and legislation (e.g., BS7671, CUSC, GC).
  • Skilled in working with control cabinets, PLCs and MCCs.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of common plant instrumentation (level, flow, temperature, density sensors).
  • Plant isolation procedures (LOTOTO / Permit to Work).
  • Updating and maintaining electrical line drawings.
  • Experience using CMMS systems.
  • Root cause analysis and action management.
  • Stores management (spares, critical spares, specification).
  • Installation management, testing and commissioning (FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ).
  • Exposure to electrical infrastructure upgrades.
  • Electrical maintenance of facilities.
Advantageous but Not Essential Skills
  • Working knowledge of DCS systems and inline process control instruments (including AI).
  • Knowledge of TPM (Autonomous Maintenance / Reliability Maintenance).
  • Experience with 6S methodology.
  • Quality assurance experience across concept, design and construction for electrical infrastructure.
  • Exposure to multiple concurrent projects.
  • Supervisory experience with contractors and vendors.
  • Involvement in continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
