Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a well‑established specialist in structural steelwork, delivering high‑quality fabrication and engineering projects across the North West and further afield. With a strong reputation for technical excellence, reliability, and client focus, they're now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

This is a key client‑facing position where you'll lead the commercial management of multiple live projects – typically ranging from £10k to £1.5m. You'll ensure financial control, effective cost management and successful delivery from tender through to final account. The role will be split between office and sites across the North West region.

• Take ownership of commercial and contractual aspects across several steelwork projects.
• Manage valuations, variations, cost control, and final accounts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Act as the commercial lead when projects become commercially or contractually challenging.
• Liaise with the estimator, contracts, and project management teams to maintain alignment on budgets and forecasts.
• Support junior team members and contribute to commercial strategy.

• Minimum 10 years' experience in Quantity Surveying.
• Strong structural steelwork background (essential).
• Capable of picking up civils elements where required.
• Client‑facing and confident handling complex relationships.
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proactive, commercially astute, and confident in decision‑making.
