An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Frailty team at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As the population ages, more older people are living with frailty and presenting to ED departments. Targeting this high‑risk group early during admission improves quality of care and optimises patient and service outcomes for a vulnerable population. The role involves working in our Acute Frailty Unit (UFU), SDEC and developing rapid‑access and ambulatory clinics.

Excellent and advanced clinical knowledge of caring for frail patients is essential, and a determination to make a difference is required. Our ANPs are highly valued and supported by the medical and senior nursing team, with opportunities for skill building and further development. Successful candidates will work alongside ward‑based medical doctors, performing duties appropriate to their level of experience and competence, with the aim of creating highly skilled autonomous ANPs that promote high‑quality care, experience, outcomes and safe, effective discharges.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast‑paced Acute Trust, ideally with Frailty experience, and a desire for new challenges within an innovative multidisciplinary workforce.
