Audit Assistant Manager – Public Sector Audit

The Public Sector Audit team in Birmingham works with some of the largest local government and NHS bodies in the country. As an Audit Assistant Manager you will lead audit engagements, manage a portfolio of clients, support audit quality, and develop relationships with public sector stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS

  • Extensive experience of using audit software and Microsoft packages
  • Demonstrate genuine interest in clients, confidently discuss business challenges and needs
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge to facilitate and lead valuable discussions with clients
Qualifications
  • Professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA or CIPFA) with post‑qualification experience
  • Confidence managing a large portfolio of audit clients
  • Experience of managing audits of public sector bodies and dealing with complex technical matters
  • Project management experience
  • Experience of IFRS and audits of listed companies (beneficial)
  • Extensive experience of using audit software and Microsoft packages
