Overview
I’m currently working with a well-established firm of Chartered Accountants in the West Midlands that is looking to appoint a qualified Senior Associate to join their Audit team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional seeking a role with real responsibility, strong client exposure, and the chance to mentor junior colleagues within a supportive, growth-focused environment.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering audit assignments from planning through to completion across a diverse client portfolio. This role will suit someone who enjoys combining technical audit work with client engagement and team support. You’ll also gain valuable exposure to a variety of sectors, with travel to client sites providing plenty of day-to-day variety.
Key Responsibilities
Lead audit fieldwork and procedures from planning to completion
Prepare audit files and ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations
Review financial statements, supporting schedules, and audit documentation
Provide coaching, guidance, and oversight to junior team members
Communicate effectively with clients to resolve queries and ensure a smooth audit process
Identify areas where value can be added and offer practical recommendations
Travel to client premises for on-site audit work as required
Candidate Profile
ACA/ACCA qualified
Proven audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards
Experience preparing financial statements under FRS 102
Experience using IRIS software for accounts preparation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational ability and the capacity to manage multiple assignments
Proficient in audit software and Microsoft Office
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites
