Category Manager
Up to £50,000 + Hybrid Working

As a Category Manager, you will oversee the contractual relationships between the business and various stakeholders. You will serve as a key liaison across all business directorates, guiding procurement activities in adherence to relevant policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Guide and support procurement activities in line with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Manage tendering processes for indirect purchases across multiple company directorates
- Negotiate and prepare contracts to fulfil business requirements and franchise commitments
- Liaise with the Client Relationships & Contracts Team and DfT for contract approvals
- Provide commercial and contractual advice as needed
- Act as the primary contact with external legal advisors regarding contracts
- Attend contract review meetings and provide management reporting
- Assist in reviewing and enhancing procurement policies and procedures
- Support the Head of Client Relationships & Contracts in meeting business needs
- Navigate a challenging environment, communicating effectively within the company and with external organisations
- Adhere to Abellio Group Procurement Policy and WMT Procurement Strategy
- Balancing business requirements with NRC commitments
- Ensuring rigorous application of contractual rights and obligations
- Supporting the fulfilment of annual business plan commitments
- Seeking best value through effective contract management
- Meeting tight project deadlines for tender delivery
- Demonstrated experience in Category Management for large organisations
- Familiarity with Utilities Contract Regulations
- Proficiency in contract management and negotiation
- Ability to interpret complex legal documents
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Experience working with legal advisors
- Negotiation and influencing skills
- Multitasking ability to manage conflicting deadlines
- Strong communication skills
