Bid Manager, Business

Bid Manager Up to £55,000  annual bonus Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 Hybrid, Birmingham Macildowie are working with this client based in Birmingham, a well-established professional services organisation, to recruit an experienced Bid Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and ambitious Business Development and Marketing function, taking ownership of high-value tenders and proposals while playing a key role in securing new business.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders, technical specialists and business development colleagues to develop compelling, commercially focused bids.

The Role As Bid Manager, you will take responsibility for managing the end-to-end tender and proposal process, ensuring submissions are persuasive, compliant and delivered to demanding deadlines.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading regional and national bids, tenders and proposals across professional services.
• Managing the full bid lifecycle, from initial qualification and bid strategy through to submission and post-tender review.
• Collaborating with senior stakeholders to develop winning propositions and commercially competitive submissions.
• Producing, editing and proofreading high-quality bid content, credentials and presentations.
• Coordinating input from multiple departments, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance.
• Supporting pricing discussions, contract reviews and bid presentations.
• Conducting competitor and client research to strengthen tender responses.
• Reviewing bid outcomes, identifying lessons learned and implementing improvements.
• Maintaining bid libraries, case studies and best-practice content.
• Identifying opportunities to cross-sell services across different business areas. About You We are looking for an organised, commercially aware Bid Manager who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will ideally demonstrate:
• At least 3 years' experience in bid management, tender management or a similar B2B role.
• Proven experience managing formal tenders and complex proposals.
• Excellent written communication, editing and proofreading skills.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Confidence engaging and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Strong IT skills and commercial awareness.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with wider teams. Desirable experience:
• Previous exposure to professional services.
• Experience using Adobe InDesign.
