Caters Media Group
Caters Media Group is looking for a senior, social-first video story producer to help lead the commissioning, shaping and publishing of real‑life people stories designed for digital platforms, particularly, but not exclusively, content that resonates with women aged 18–28.
This is a role for someone who already understands how social stories are found, developed and packaged and is ready to take greater ownership of story quality, tone and publishing decisions, while mentoring others and helping evolve our formats.
You’ll have strong instincts for what works on social, how to turn raw real‑life experiences into compelling posts and videos, and how to balance entertainment with responsibility. This role is about story judgement, narrative clarity and audience understanding, not filming or shooting.
What You’ll Be Doing- Sourcing, commissioning and developing video‑based real‑life people stories, from first contact through to social publication
- Taking editorial ownership of stories: shaping the angle, narrative and tone to suit social platforms and target audiences
- Turning raw material (UGC, contributor footage, interviews, voice notes) into clear, engaging, social‑first narratives
- Writing full copy alongside the video, including scripts, captions, headlines and hooks that feel native to platform
- Making confident editorial decisions on story framing, headlines and captions to maximise clarity, shareability and engagement
- Acting as a senior point of judgement on tone, taste and suitability for platform and audience
- Editing scripts, headlines and social copy to be punchy, emotionally intelligent and easy to consume
- Spotting weak story angles, confusing narratives or poor hooks and fixing them
- Using performance data and audience insight to refine formats, hooks and storytelling approaches
- Helping shape best practice for social publishing: what we commission, how we frame stories, and what performs for our audiences
- Supporting and mentoring junior producers, helping raise overall story quality and confidence
You’ll be shaping bold, surprising, people‑led stories that spark curiosity, conversation and emotion, such as:
- A woman telling her personal story of becoming pregnant while she was a virgin, focusing on her experience and the impact it had on her life
- A celebrity offering a behind‑the‑scenes look at the bodybuilding world in “Bodybuilding Secrets”
- A woman documenting her painful (and hilarious) journey with a canker sore, including all the questionable remedies she tried to heal it faster
These are stories that live or die on angle, framing and copy and your job is to make them land.
Qualifications- Is a strong social‑first storyteller, with sharp instincts for people‑led content
- Has experience finding, commissioning and developing real‑life stories not just editing finished videos
- Understands how to frame personal stories for entertainment, relatability and shareability
- Is confident making calls on tone, taste and audience relevance
- Able to work flexibly across multiple time zones, managing stories and stakeholders in countries such as USA and Australia, as well as UK
- Thinks in formats, hooks and narratives not just articles or long‑form features
- Can write clear, engaging scripts, captions and headlines that feel native to social platforms
- Can collaborate effectively with editors, providing clear, structured briefs and working at speed with agility to ensure fast completion of edits
- Is ready to step into a senior role, supporting and guiding other producers
- Has a strong understanding of Gen Z audiences, especially women aged 18–28
- Proven experience in social media, digital storytelling, entertainment media or people‑led content
- Strong editorial judgement and attention to narrative clarity
- Experience in mentoring or informally leading others
- Comfortable working at pace across multiple stories at once
- Data‑aware, but led by instinct and audience understanding
- A genuine interest in real people, modern culture and social storytelling
- Being able to self‑edit; proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro is a bonus
